Cannonau di Sardegna D.O.C.

This native vine has been grown for centuries. It is known as the Prince of the Sardinian wines. "Aristo" is a Cannonau with very special characteristics in terms of flavour and aroma. The intense fragrances and rich colours seem to hold the soft sun rays of the sunset at Sinis. A wine that is able to awaken the senses and the spirit.


Specifications:

Organic: Yes

Grape variety: 100% Cannonau. Native vine, representative of the traditional wine making in Sardinia;

Production area: Sinis peninsula (Sardinia's west coast). Municipality of San Vero Milis (OR), vineyards owned, about 5 km from the sea, kind of soil "raw clay mixed with marl";

Cultivation system: Gouyot.

Density of planting: 3500 vines per hectare;

Production: 90 – 100 quintals per hectare;

Harvest time: In general around the third week of September, the first week of October. This is depending on the year;

Qualification: Red wine with Denominazione di Origine Controllata (controlled designation of origin);

Colour: Ruby Red, more or less intense, tends toward brick red as wine gets older;

Aroma: Pleasant scent, with a light aroma of grapes. Aroma typical for the area of cultivation;

Taste: Fruity, characteristic, warm, harmonious, from dry to full;

How to serve: Temperature 16-18°C.

Recommended: At pasta dishes with meat sauce, roasted red and white meat, pork and lamb on the spit, spiced sheep and goat cheese;

Alcohol percentage: Minimum alcohol percentage 13,5% Vol. Varies yearly.;

Storage: stainless steel tanks – bottle;

Shelf life: Aging after 2-3 years;
